Multiple reports have confirmed that NATO-armed Ukrainian Army has continued shelling civilians in the Donbass region in the Donetsk People’s Republic, killing at least 27 people and wounding another 25.

This latest incident took place on Sunday at a market located in in the suburb of Tekstilshchik on the outskirts of Donetsk City. Among the injured were two children, said DPR head Denis Pushilin.

Ukrainian officials in Kiev have refused to comment on the incident, and the claim that they haven’t struck civilian areas, despite the fact that they have been recorded as targeting civilians in this region since the Spring of 2014.

As desperation sets in for Kiev, their dwindling armed forces have been forced to increasingly relied on longer-range attacks in an attempt to terrorize civilians living in the newly reclaimed Russian territories.

The Ukrainian forces artillery shells were fired from the area of Kurakhove and Krasnohorivka to the west of Donestk, with emergency services responded to fatalities at the scene.

The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the attack on civilians in the capital city, of Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic, but due to the political sensitivity of the issue, he refused to publicly assign blame for the deadly shelling.

“The Secretary-General strongly condemns all attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, including today’s shelling of the city of Donetsk in Ukraine,” said a spokesperson for the UN head, adding that, “Attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure are prohibited under international humanitarian law, are unacceptable and must stop immediately.”

Moscow has called the strike on a market in the Russian-held city of Donetsk a “barbaric terrorist act” that showed the need for its Special Military Operation in Ukraine.

“The neo-Nazi Kyiv regime, with the support of the United States and its satellites, once again committed a barbaric terrorist act against the civilian population of Russia,” said the foreign ministry.
