21st Century Wire says…
Is the US is finally making progress against ISIS, after being embarrassed by Russia for over a month?
Watch a video of this report here:
The Pentagon has ‘confirmed’ that it conducted a targeted strike against terror actor ‘Jihadi John’, real name Mohamed Emwazi, the alleged on-screen executioner who featured in a series of horrific videos released by terrorist group ISIS.
A drone equipped with Hellfire Missiles launched the strike last night in Raqqa, Syria; the alleged capital city of ISIS’s so-called Caliphate.
Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook had this to say:
“US forces conducted an airstrike in Raqqa, Syria, on 12 November 2015 targeting Mohamed Emwazi, also known as Jihadi John,”
“Emwazi, a British citizen, participated in the videos showing the murders of US journalists Steven Sotloff and James Foley, American aid worker Abdul-Rahman [Peter] Kassig, British aid workers David Haines and Alan Henning, Japanese journalist Kenji Goto, and a number of other hostages,”
“We are assessing the results of tonight’s operation and will provide additional information as and where appropriate.”
Since then, British officials have said they are 99% sure Emwazi was killed in the strike.

Spanish journalist Javier Espinosa who was freed after being held captive for six months said:
“Jihadi John wanted maximum drama. He had brought along an antique sword of the kind Muslim armies used in the middle ages. It was a blade of almost a metre in length with a silver handle.”
Also today, US airstrikes assisted Kurdish Peshmerga forces in the successful liberation of Sinjar in northern Iraq, which is a key stepping stone in moving forward to ISIS held Mosul and Raqqa.
After over a month of being upstaged and embarrassed by the widely reported Russian successes against ISIS, could the US finally be stepping up their efforts in the real war on terror?
If these developments continue that is certainly a feasible possibility, as Obama looks to end his presidency on a high note.
