Indeed, Bagram Prison is a magical place, an exotic location where thousands of Afghanis and Arabs can still go and experience a lawless theme park of torture and indefinite detention. Almost two years into the new administration, the Guantanamo Hotel is still open for business as well… and even old Knuckles still has gainful employment:
Obama has upgraded America’s network of overseas detention facilities or ‘black sites’ – making him our new Bush 2.0, Bush Vista, or Bush 7 (whichever you prefer).
Nine years on… it’s all about feeling safe in the knowledge that Coalition Forces are still rounding up and roughing up an endless array of taxi drivers, goat herders, delivery boys, farmers and unemployed Afghanis- all of whom are, of course, suspected terrorists. At a price of $60 billion for the coming year- now that’s value for money!
“Get ’em over there before they come over here”. Shucks, the War on Terror is just the best.
