Recently, the world learned how Pfizer had been holding Brazil ‘to ransom’ over the possibility of being hit with massive lawsuits stemming from its experimental Covid vaccine. Normally Big Pharma firms are given special indemnity from compensation claims under an EUA (Emergency Use Authorization). Brazil had signed a $1 billion deal with Pfizer and even agreed that “a liability waiver be signed for any possible side-effects of the vaccine, exempting Pfizer from any civil liability for serious side-effects arising from the use of the vaccine, indefinitely.” This story has let to even more whistleblowing and investigations in the the transnational pharmaceutical cartel. Brazil’s secret contract also said that it would cede to US courts, convened in secret, should any contractual disputes relating to the vaccines.
