SEE ALSO: MSNBC anchor Martin Bashir resigns over his puzzling fetish remarks
21st Century Wire says…
We have received a flood of comments regarding the recent gaff by MSNBC’s Martin Bashir, with many readers calling his over-the-top tirade the worst, and most distasteful outburst every witnessed on broadcast television – and that’s saying a lot (from our readers anyway).
We would have to agree here. Although the 21WIRE is no fan of Sarah Palin, on this particular occasion, we will be forced to defend her from the disgusting comments made by one Martin Bashir, a British interloper embedded into America’s premier ultra-liberal, pro-White House media outlet, MSNBC.
What started this tirade was the fact that Sarah Palin had made a speech about the US national debt and equated the level of debt owed to foreign countries like China – to a type of slavery. Any intelligent person could pick up the context of Palin’s remarks as referring to a common term called, ‘debt slavery’. Nonetheless, Bashir, in his all out mission to blend in with Americans by re-styling himself as a ‘red, white, and blue’ champion of minorities and repeal of the Second Amendment, saw fit to equate Palin’s mention of the word slavery with an insult to all African-Americans who had suffered the pangs of slavery throughout US history.
Bashir’s remarks were the definition of disingenuous, but the venom he exhibited on air continued to go downhill from there…
What Bashir clearly inferred here, is that Sarah Palin deserves to have someone defecate feces in her mouth as punishment for violating Bashir’s code of politically correct speech. Here is the video, and the spoken transcript of Martin Bashir’s statement against former Alaska governor Sarah Palin:
“Given her well-established reputation as a world-class idiot, it’s hardly surprising that [Palin] should choose to mention slavery in a way that is abominable to anyone who knows anything about its barbaric history.
So here’s an example. One of the most comprehensive first-person accounts of slavery comes from the personal diary of a man called Thomas Thistlewood, who kept copious notes for 39 years. Thistlewood was the son of a tenant farmer, who arrived on the island of Jamaica in April 1750, and assumed the position of overseer at a major plantation. What is most shocking about Thistlewood’s diary is not simply the fact that he assumes the right to own and possess other human beings, but is the sheer cruelty and brutality of his regime. In 1756, he records that a slave named Darby ‘catched eating kanes; had him well flogged and pickled, then made Hector, another slave, s-h-i-t in his mouth.’ This became known as ‘Darby’s Dose,’ a punishment invented by Thistlewood that spoke only of inhumanity. And he mentions a similar incident in 1756, his time in relation to a man he refers to as Punch. ‘Flogged Punch well, and then washed and rubbed salt pickle, lime juice and bird pepper. Made Negro Joe piss in his eyes and mouth’. I could go on, but you get the point.
When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance.
She confirms if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, she would be the outstanding candidate.”
Poor taste does not even begin to describe what Bashir did here. It’s both revolting and unforgivable.
Not surprisingly, another one of MSNBC’s class acts, Al Sharpton (photo, left), came out seeming to side with Bashir by condemning Palin’s comments in a ‘how dare you’ moment.
Sarah Palin is a political figure, but Martin Bashir is meant to be an objective commentator, even though we know he’s not because of MSNBC overt, radical partisan agenda. Unfortunately for Bashir, he made the cardinal sin of journalism, which is that HE is now the story, and not Sarah Palin.
How MSNBC can keep this man on the airwaves after this seedy gaff is beyond everyone who values civil discourse (or what’s left of it) from their political commentators. It is arguably the most disgusting display of partisan filth in recorded mainstream media history.
What’s more telling though, is that left-wing gate keepers in media have propagated the notion that nastiness is the purview of the political right. Well, now the world can see exactly how low the radical left-wing are willing to go – in public. Anyone who knows debate and critical thinking knows that when one side has lost the argument and is stuck defending a disfunctional agenda, they revert to vile personal attacks against their opponent. Case and point with Bashir here, who did just that.
Bashir pretends to understand America
Martin Bashir can often be seen in MSNBC Lean Forward promotional ads, waxing lyrical about ‘What a great country America is”, clearly going over the top to curry favor with the American public – but this is all a well-rehearsed act for the cameras. British media import Martin Bashir has, as we can now see from his naked conduct, many of the qualities of a psychopath, someone who will shape-shift into any environment in order appear similar to those around him. Bashir hasn’t grasped that most Americans have standards, even for toxic pundits like himself. Perhaps Americans should let Bashir know that his type of behavior is unacceptable, and he’s probably not the best person to be lecturing Americans on political correctness any more.
It probably doesn’t help also, that this psychopath’s ego is being constantly fed by legions of sycophantic staff at MSNBC and worldly New Yorkers who consider the English accent to sound ‘more intelligent’, a condition which compels many europhiles stateside to faun over British actors, fashion editors and media personalities like Bashir.
We always suspected that Bashir was not playing with a full deck, and now we have the proof.
Like a true psychopath, realizing he is in danger of being kicked out of “the club”, he now can be seen sucking up to anyone and everyone in a last ditch bid to remain a member:
If MSNBC were actually real press – and not a policy sewer pipe for the Democrat Party, they would have promptly fire Bashir, along with the producer and news director who willingly helped piece his nasty presentation together. If they don’t clean house, then this will be proof that this network is a dirty, White House-run organization.
MSNBC have compromised themselves already by becoming a left-wing, albeit more shameless version of FOX News, but this latest incident – more than any other, speaks volumes about where the values and morals truly lie.
