Tucker: ‘US Government Stopped Me From Interviewing Putin’

The former Fox News host has revealed that he attempted to secure an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but was warned off by persons within the US government.

According to reports, Tucker Carlson has alleged in a recent interview that ‘unnamed figures’ in Washington intervened to obstruct his attempts to interview Putin.

“I tried to interview Vladimir Putin, and the US government stopped me,” said Carlson during a recent interview with Swiss media outlet Die Weltwoche.

He did not elaborate on the exact circumstances of the alleged government intrusion into his plans to interview Putin, but it is believed it was the operatives in the Biden administration who applied the intimidation to prevent the interview from taking place.

Carlson also said that he was disappointed by the lack of support for from his media cohort.

“I don’t think there was anybody who said ‘wait a second. I may not like this guy but he has a right to interview anyone he wants, and we have a right to hear what Putin says’.”

He added, “You’re not allowed to hear Putin’s voice. Because why? There was no vote on it. No one asked me.”

“I’m an American citizen,” said Carlson. “I’m a much more loyal American than, say, Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, who didn’t even grow up in this country; she grew up in Canada. And they’re telling me what it is to be a loyal American?”

Earlier this year, it was was also revealed  how Carlson was in talks with US-based Kremlin intermediaries about setting up an interview with Putin just prior to the Fox News host accusing the National Security Agency (NSA) of spying on him, reported Axios.

Apparently, US government officials had learned (presumably through spying on him) about Carlson’s efforts to book the Putin interview. Carlson’s accusations triggered a rare public denial by the NSA that he had been target of their spying.

He told his roughly 3 million viewers on June 28 that the day before, he had heard “from a whistleblower within the U.S. government who reached out to warn us that the NSA … is monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take this show off the air.”

Carlson said his source, “who is in a position to know, repeated back to us information about a story that we are working on that could have only come directly from my texts and emails.”

“It’s illegal for the NSA to spy on American citizens,” Carlson added. “Things like that should not happen in America. But unfortunately, they do happen. And in this case, they did happen.”

It is expected that Tucker Carlson will be commenting further on this issue on his X/Twitter platform.
