In Episode 2 of The Palestine Laboratory, journalist and author Antony Loewenstein examines how Israel markets surveillance and military technologies developed and tested on Palestinians. The film places particular emphasis on India, where a growing arms trade, joint production and expanding security cooperation have drawn the two countries into an increasingly close strategic relationship.
The investigation also follows Israeli technology to Mexico, Greece and the US–Mexico border, where it is used to monitor activists, refugees and migrants. In South Africa, Loewenstein traces Israel’s secret arms relationship with the apartheid government, revealing the longer history behind an industry built around surveillance, control and military force.
