Iran says it is once again shutting down the Strait of Hormuz, blaming the US for “breaches of trust” during the tenuous ceasefire. Meanwhile in Washington, President Donald Trump claims that negotiations are still ongoing, and predictably—he is blaming Iran for ‘breaking the deal’, a deal which never really existed, as an erratic Trump keeps moving the goal posts throughout negotiations. Is the US even capable to observing any major agreement? Under the current regime in Washington, that remains an open question. It seems that piracy is the new US grand strategy now.
