In the 21st century, the most powerful force in shaping conflict zones, as well as the wider geopolitical arena, is no longer the military, but the information space. Propaganda is the chief component in the weaponization of that information space, as western powers have accumulated incredible capabilities in creating, controlling and steering narratives in order to manufacture consensus and public consent for foreign policy. However, these are just a few aspects of a vast propaganda matrix.
This week the Islamic Radio & Television Union (ITVRU) based in Geneva, Switzerland broadcast a webinar entitled, “Tools of Destabilisation: Mainstream Media Propaganda,” hosted by Hasan Abedi, and in-studio panel speaker Patrick Henningsen, editor of 21st Century Wire.
