Social Justice Fail? Affirmative Action and the ‘Diversity’ Dilemma

In America, Affirmative Action programs were initially created to help level the playing field for underrepresented groups, but since that time it has come under increased criticism for becoming a tool for reverse discrimination and ‘cosmetic diversity’ on campuses and in the workplace. In a CBSN Originals documentary “The Diversity Dilemma” the film examines when these measures can be helpful or harmful.

Coleman Hughes, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute, talks about Affirmative Action within the present polarized political climate in the US, and why the policy is no longer serving the interests of Black Americans. Watch:
