The SXSW (South By Southwest) event in Austin, Texas started back in 1987 as a music festival, and has since grown into a corporate-sponsored canteen for technology and media elites looking to up their cool factor. Add politics to the mix, and this latest feat of political agenda by media proxy is one big overcooked enchilada.
Hillary Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, addressed the tech-heavy crowd of SXSW on the final day of the event’s interactive conference.
Her keynote, “Harnessing the Power of Tech and Data for Development” was meant to inspire use of technology for doing good in the world. Not surprisingly, the topic of NSA spying and Ed Snowden, who appeared ‘virtually’ at the conference just a day earlier – was off limits.

We can’t think of anything Chelsea Clinton has done in technology to keynote at SXSW. Pando Daily reported the conference’s interactive director Hugh Forrest said Chelsea was invited because attendees were asking for more content related to “social good” at the conference.
A change-up in the programming could certainly benefit many in the crowd who spend their days building apps that track us everywhere we go. But this staged appearance is clearly a fundraising gig for The Clinton Foundation, and another major stop on the media makeover tour for Hillary Clinton.

She hasn’t done a thing, and that doesn’t matter. SXSW deems her lineage good enough to give her a plum speaking gig.

Geez. What’s her last name again? I’m having trouble remembering…
Might that last name have something to do with all those fancy things she has supposedly done with the foundation that has the same name and was founded by her parents? Might this speaking slot be a bobble given to the daughter of the likely Democratic presidential nominee in 2016? Nah, that just can’t be.
Leftists like to talk a grand game about “fairness.” Do they mean a word of it? What’s fair about giving a keynote slot to someone who hasn’t done a single notable thing with her life since she happened to be born into a first family?
Where is the “social justice” in letting a famous rich kid have a keynote gig that she would never have gotten on her own merits?
