Nano-drones: Harvard’s Bee-sized Drones Revealed

21st Century Wire says…

Academics working for the military industrial complex in the US claim that their new army of nano-drones are ‘inspired by nature’.

Harvard’s nano-bot department (see diagram above) explains:

INSPIRED by the biology of a bee and the insect’s hive behavior… (…)We aim to push advances in miniature robotics and the design of compact high-energy power”.

RT reports:

“The Robo-Bees project at Harvard has been flying prototype bees for months, and the next challenge is equipping them with brains.

The scientists have just released the video of the first controlled flight of such a robotic bee. The bees are half the size of a paperclip and weigh less than a tenth of a gram, and the fact they can fly at all is an engineering marvel in its own right given their minute size…”
