“From Balfour to Banksy: Visions and Divisions in Palestine” charts the story from 1918, Britain’s Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour set in motion the Zionist agenda to create Israel… His ‘Balfour Declaration’ had a disastrous impact: the dispossession of the Palestinian people. Creating the legacy of strife and division that remains there today. This film looks at a range of views from occupied Palestine today from anger to attempts at envisioning a future. It also shows the vision of the contemporary artist Banksy, who has created in Palestine a hotel that is also a remarkable satirical art installation and how this symbolizes the story of oppression and occupation in the Holy Land. How do today’s Palestinians live behind the ‘security wall’? Watch:
