On Sunday, President Donald Trump made history by becoming the first sitting US President to step foot inside of North Korea. But it’s still unclear whether this symbolic move will bear any fruits in the tense de-nuclearization negotiations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Iran is watching closely at how events are playing out as Washington may attempt to use the Korean negotiations framework as a model for pressuring Tehran to comply with its demands upfront. This strategy might frustrate efforts to bring the US back into a nuclear deal with Iran.
