Hours ago several blasts near the Damascus International Airport have been reported by Syrian media. Details as to the nature of what appears to be an attack are still coming to light.
UPDATE: An explosion was heard throughout the capital – in the vicinity of Damascus International Airport, but not inside the airport. There is information indicating that the bombing hit an auxiliary gas pipeline to generate electricity in the capital Damascus. Unconfirmed reports mention long-range missiles from Israeli occupied sector of the Golan Heights – hitting a facility located on the main road into Damascus International Airport yet did not actually hit the airport itself.
21WIRE reporters in Damascus are reporting Jets scrambling low over the city, likely as a reaction to the earlier incident. Nothing is certain yet. We will update when more information comes in.

Several large explosions have reportedly occurred in the vicinity of Damascus airport, triggering a large fire, according to Syrian media.
Witnesses shared photos and videos showing the blasts and burning fuel or gas, claiming that the incident took place near Damascus International Airport.
Reporting from Damascus, RT’s Lizzie Phelan said the airstrikes may have also targeted a road leading to the airport. She also said there is no official confirmation of who was behind the attack.
