Lendman: Fake News About Navalny’s ‘Politicized’ Imprisonment

Navalny

By Stephen Lendman

CIA asset, Western media darling, political nobody Navalny is imprisoned for 2.8 years near Moscow – for multiple breaches of his suspended sentence.

Along with embezzling millions of dollars for self-enrichment, he’s guilty of sedition.

Serving as an unregistered US foreign agent, he operated as a fifth column threat against his homeland.

Incarcerated in Pokrov, Russia’s penal colony number 2, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the following about him in early April.

Russia has different information from Western propaganda “on whether this particular inmate has been placed in a medical treatment facility or not.”

“All the necessary steps are being taken. Naturally, no inmate can count on any special conditions.”

“There are certain rules, even in cases when inmates get sick.”

“So, if he is truly ill, he will receive whatever necessary treatment is required.”

Last week, Tass reported the following:

“Convict A. Navalny was placed in the medical unit of the Penal Colony Number 2 in the Vladimir Region under constant observation of medical workers between April 5 and 9.”

“On April 9, his was brought back to the prison cell as his health condition got better.”

Doctors called his health satisfactory.

On March 31, RT reported that Navalny said he’d begin hunger-striking “to protest his prison conditions.”

On April 6, he was transferred to the prison’s medical unit after showing respiratory infection symptoms — according to the Federal Penitentiary Service.

At the time, Izvestia said prison authorities placed him under medical staff supervision for assessment and treatment as necessary.

Reportedly he experienced “severe” coughing and had a temperature of 100.5 degrees.

Three inmates in his 15-man cell contracted tuberculosis.

Tests showed he was TB-free and had not contracted seasonal flu-renamed covid.

Since his health improved, he’s now back in his cell.

Russophobic NYT propaganda claims otherwise, on Monday misreporting the following:

Navalny’s “personal doctors” — who hadn’t examined him — claimed his health weakened because of hunger-striking and “lingering effects” from military grade nerve agent poisoning — that never occurred.

One of his personal doctors hyperbolically claimed that he could die “at any moment.”

Despite not having examined him in prison, his doctors claimed 44-year-old Navalny could die from kidney and/or heart disease.

These illnesses seldom affect individuals his age, Navalny’s imprisonment began about seven weeks ago.

Reportedly he began hunger-striking on March 31.

According to Russian media reports, claims of his being at risk of imminent death are greatly exaggerated.

Biden regime national security advisor Sullivan expressed concern about CIA asset Navalny, saying the following:

“We have communicated to the Russian government that what happens to Mr. Navalny in their custody is their responsibility and they will be held accountable by the international community (sic).”

“In terms of the specific measures that we would take, we are looking at a variety of different costs that we would impose and I’m not going to telegraph that publicly at this point.”

“But we have communicated that there will be consequences if Mr. Navalny dies.”

According to Russia’s Foreign Ministry earlier, US/Western Navalny-related threats and ultimatums aim to try destabilizing Russia — what hasn’t worked and won’t ahead.

Navalny is a US/Western political tool, used in waging war on Russia by other means.

His health and well-being only matter as long as he’s politically useful.

If and when otherwise, his fate will be ignored in the West.

For now according to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, the US-dominated “West invested too much money and resources into” using him to dump him at this time.

“They realize that (their Russophobic disinformation) campaign will die out” if not sustained.

Navalny is more useful to Biden regime hardliners behind bars than if free by falsely calling his imprisonment politicized a longstanding US specialty.

Operating the largest gulag prison system worldwide, countless thousands are locked in cages for political, not legitimate, reasons.

Navalny got off easily. Instead of longterm imprisonment for betraying his country and grand theft, his sentence is short-term.

Hyped NYT claims about his possible imminent death are part of its longstanding Russia bashing.

So is falsely accusing Moscow of wanting him dead by “slow-motion assassination.”

He’s only useful to US/Western Russophobes as a politicized Russia bashing tool.

In Russia, he’s a political nobody.

If dead, he’d be most useful to the West as a politicized martyr.

Perhaps CIA assassins will try eliminating him with this in mind.

A Final Comment

On Monday, a statement by Russia’s Penitentiary Service said the following:

“A medical commission…transfer(ed) A. Navalny to the inpatient department of the regional hospital for prisoners, located on the territory of the 3rd correctional facility in the Vladimir Region, which specializes in the dynamic examination of such patients,” adding:

His health is stable and “satisfactory.” Medically examined daily, vitamin therapy was prescribed to treat him.
