NATO Refuse to Maintain Dialogue with Russia Over Anti-Terrorism Effort

21st Century Wire says…

This is a very interesting development. One would expect that NATO would be interested in combatting terrorism, especially in the wake the recent Brussels Attacks.

Why is NATO dragging its heals with a dialogue with Russia? Is it pure politics, or is there something more to it?

When you consider NATO’s own history of carrying out terrorist attacks against European citizens with Operation GLADIO (1960s – 1990s), then perhaps there is much more to this story than meets the eye…

RIA Novosti – By refusing to maintain a dialogue with Russia on counter-terrorism, NATO is ignoring the fact that terrorism is a threat to all, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday.

Every EU citizen, every citizen of NATO member countries… must realize that this organization refuses to maintain a fully-fledged dialogue [with Russia] on counter-terrorism,” she told reporters.

“Terrorism cannot be defeated by unilateral efforts or by regional alliances. The fact that the most recent terrorist attack took place in Brussels is a challenge not only to NATO, it is a challenge to all, including [Russia] and the Middle East region,” RIA Novosti quoted the spokeswoman as saying.
