For the last 18 months, the mainstream discourse has been awash with the increasingly arbitrary term known as “COVID Misinformation.” The government, mainstream media, academia, and Silicon Valley are all decrying it, and everyone seems to be warning how it’s a ‘deadly threat’ to public health, and yet none of those using this term are able to actually define what it means, let alone put it into any proper context. Instead, they just hit the cancel button. Nice and simple, in an authoritarian sort of way.
