Big Brother’s Playbook: US Gov’t Clandestine Program to Curb ‘Dangerous Speech’

It’s what many suspected was happening. We should all be shocked at how bad and brazen it really was.

This week it has been revealed how partisan operatives employed at Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Discord, Wikipedia, Microsoft, and LinkedIn and others, including the recently-fired head of “trust & safety” political censorship department at Twitter, Vijaya Gadde, held regular secret meetings with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the FBI – to discuss ways in which social media firms could assist the Biden Administration in censoring a wide range of opinions, views and subjects – including the White House’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, as well as enforcing the government’s COVID-19 and lockdown narratives, mandatory vaccines, and even enforcing “racial justice” speech online, according to new documents leaked to The Intercept.

The leak reveals how partisan tech executives met with the FBI and other government agencies on a monthly basis, prior to and following the 2020 election. Corrupt Facebook executives even set up a special portal for “takedowns” which required a government law enforcement email to access.

The leaked information also includes secret documents and minutes revealed in Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt’s lawsuit filed against the Biden Administration which alleges federal government collusion with Big Tech firms specifically to suppress Americans’ First Amendment rights. The timely revelation also exposes two partisan FBI officials who were directly involved in high-level communications with Facebook to suppress the infamous Hunter Biden laptop story – Laura Dehmlow, the section chief of the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF) and Elvis Chan, a special agent in the San Francisco field office. In addition to this, the FBI agents were also telling Twitter executives that subversive information on social media ‘could undermine support’ for the US government.

The FITF was created in 2019 in response to fictional claims by Democrats, the US Intelligence Community, and corporate mainstream media – that alleged “Russian influence” on social media somehow got Donald Trump elected in 2016. The FBI would later expand the scope of its censorship dragnet to so-called “disinformation analysis” regarding the COVID-19 pseudo pandemic. A draft of the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review leaked to the Intercept shows how the DHS has been actively planning to target “inaccurate information” on topics including ‘the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic and the efficacy of Covid-19 vaccines, racial justice, US withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the nature of US support to Ukraine.”

It’s a stunning revelation for sure, which confirms the depth of corruption and unconstitutional activities carried out by US federal agencies who clearly view themselves as above the law.

Substack’s Techno Fog writes…

The federal government’s guidelines to counter “misinformation” and “disinformation” – what we might more accurately describe as Big Brother’s Playbook – has been released. The US government and its allies, including media gatekeepers and educational institutions and global corporations, have become the judges and juries of “misinformation.”

And Big Tech is their executioner.

According to recently-filed court documents in Missouri v. Biden that were made available by The Intercept (big hat tip to Lee Fang and Ken Klippenstein), “The Department of Homeland Security is quietly broadening its efforts to curb speech it considers dangerous.”

We’ve highlighted the key points of these court documents with screenshots below. Read it all – it’s especially relevant to the 2022 and 2024 elections.

  • DHS is “directly engaging with social media companies to flag MDM” (MDM is defined as mis-information, dis-information, and mal-information). It is doing so “Ahead of midterm elections in 2022” and is readying its efforts with eyes focused on 2024:

  • DHS is questioning how to “inspire innovators to partner with the government” without this “being seen as government ‘propaganda’”.

  • The “rapid response team would need to surge for short periods of time around elections.”
