PERFORMANCE ANXIETY: John McAfee Says He Will Still ‘Eat His Own D*ck’ If Wrong About Bitcoin

Cyber security expert John McAfee is putting his own manhood on the line, and confidently so, predicting Bitcoin will be worth $1mn by 2020. Bitcoin’s value surged to over $11,000 on Wednesday, eventually diving and settling just below the $10,000 mark.

McAfee is well-known in the media for offering his candid insight, especially on matters of cybersecurity, privacy and emerging technologies.

Now, amidst another tumultuous week of record swings in the crytpocurrency markets, RT reports he’s upped the ante on his Bitcoin bet:

“When I predicted Bitcoin at $500,000 by the end of 2020, it used a model that predicted $5,000 at the end of 2017,” he said. McAfee said bitcoin has accelerated much faster than what he originally thought and therefore had to revise his opinion. “I will still eat my d*ck if wrong,” he added.

Bitcoin is a mystery to most people, but to those who are in the know (especially those who got in early) the equation is quite simple: Bitcoin has created more new millionaires in the last several years than any other single investment opportunity or currency.

In recent years, it has helped fund everything from political campaigns to the world’s first 3D-printed gun. 21st Century Wire accepts Bitcoin donations to help fund its operations.

If Mr. McAfee’s very personal wager still leaves readers anxious about the future of Bitcoin, consider that even China’s ban on Bitcoin has not slowed its growth thus far – a bellwether for just how difficult it will be to stifle the decentralized nature of the blockchain technology.
