Smoke & Mirrors: Was Seymour Hersh’s ‘Bin Laden Raid’ Report a Red Herring?

21st Century Wire asks…

What’s the significance of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Seymour Hersh’s bin laden raid report?

Many notable researchers and analysts have long believed that the now legendary ‘Bin Laden Raid’ which took place in May 2011, was not only fabricated – but a propaganda ploy.

Based on our past research and reporting at 21WIRE, we’ve also believed this to be case, making note of the obvious stagecraft some time ago:

“One thing which becomes clearer by the day about the fabled ‘Bin Laden Raid’ which took place in Abbotabad, Pakistan, is that the US government has intentionally deceived the public about what happened. In other words, what President Obama described when he addressed the American people following “the raid” – was a work of pure fiction.”

In addition, the bizarre and still relatively unexplained deaths of many SEAL Team 6 members taking place immediately after the alleged Bin Laden Raid should be more cause for suspicion.

Indeed, the Bin Laden Raid was the largest ‘theatrical’ man-hunt for a fugitive in the modern era – an event which failed to produce any credible forensic evidence.

While Hersh’s London Review of Books bin Laden report appears to expose aspects surrounding the SEAL Team 6 raid, it still supports the idea that bin Laden was alive and was being housed in the Abbotabad compound, something which has been questioned since the operation took place.

Was Hersh’s bin Laden report just another variation of the official story?

Truth be told, as many informed readers are while aware of, Washington’s foreign policy planners have taken full advantage of the public’s perception of 9/11 and the ‘new world order’ it ushered in afterwards. But in order to reinforce what neoconservatives described at the time as a “100 year war”, aka the ‘War on Terror’ deception – the bin Laden avatar needed to play a large role during the Obama administration just as it did during Bush’s tenure, a role that ISIS now serves today.

Recently, well noted writer, analyst and economist, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, weighed in on Hersh’s bin Laden report. Here’s an excerpt from the Roberts article entitled, Seymour Hersh Succumbs To Disinformation:

I do not believe Hersh’s story for three reasons. One reason is that bin Laden was suffering from disease that no one can survive for a decade. His death was widely reported in 2001. One reason is that even Hersh’s “true” account of “what really happened” is contradicted by eye witnesses and the initial Pakistani TV interviews of eye witnesses. One reason is that Hersh’s story is too convoluted for an assassination raid, a routine event. He exposes lies within lies, indecision within decision, payoffs within payoffs, and reports such a huge number of people with advance knowledge of the raid that it cannot possibly have been kept a secret.”

21WIRE discussed additional anomalies associated with the bin Laden raid in this excerpt:

“The following is an interview with Muhammad Bashir, who lives next door to the alleged ”compound” of Osama bin Laden. He claims that the first US helicopter suffered an explosion, which killed all of its US military occupants, somewhere between 10 and 20 men.”

Over the years those in the medical field, have long suspected bin Laden was dead. This has also been supported by some high-ranking officials – including former Pakistini PM Benazir Bhutto, just prior to being murdered.

A Guardian report from October 2001 outlined Bin Laden’s apparent serious health problems:

“Bin Laden has often been reported to be in poor health. Some accounts claim that he is suffering from Hepatitis C, and can expect to live for only two more years.”

According to Le Figaro, last year he ordered a mobile dialysis machine to be delivered to his base at Kandahar in Afghanistan.”

Additionally, a bevy of intelligence insiders, along with other mainstream media reports, state that the former CIA-linked asset Bin Laden, died somewhere between 2001 and 2002.

Down the rabbit hole: Bin Laden raid was staged after extensive Pakistan-US negotiations – report

RT.com

Washington fabricated several key claims regarding the 2011 mission in which a US Navy SEAL team killed Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, according to legendary journalist Seymour Hersh in the latest challenge to the White House’s narrative of the raid.

Hersh, writing in the London Review of Books, has alleged that the United States government and Pakistani officials in fact worked closely–attempting to smooth political and financial concerns between the two nations–prior to the May 2011 assault on bin Laden’s Abbottabad, Pakistan compound.

“The White House still maintains that the mission was an all-American affair, and that the senior generals of Pakistan’s army and Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI) were not told of the raid in advance. This is false, as are many other elements of the Obama administration’s account,” Hersh wrote…
