Devil’s Deal: US-Backed Syrian Rebels Already Signed Pact with ISIS Prior to Haines ‘Beheading’

21st Century Wire says…

While Washington considers appropriating half a billion in funds to the Syrian rebels, we now learn that opposition groups the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and al Qaeda affiliate ‘al Nusra Front’, have officially aligned themselves with ISIS…

Terror Merger in Syria

Despite grand words by US President Obama and British PM David Cameron, here’s what’s really behind their plan to bomb ISIS in Syria…

In a report first appearing on Orient-News and other Middle East based news agencies, Syrian rebels or FSA, along with ISIS jihadists, have signed a non-aggression pact in the suburbs of Syria’s capital Damascus. The cease-fire deal brokered between so-called ‘moderate’ rebels and the black-clad Sunnis of the Islamic State, have agreed that Assad is their “principal enemy.”

The non-aggression pact between rebels and jihadists came just as Washington and President Obama announced its grand strategy to ‘defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria’. The ‘Rebel-Terrorist’ deal was reportedly struck this past Friday, September 12th, in Syria, preceding the latest seemingly staged execution video released by ISIS.

The anti-Assad Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, has reported that:

“The two parties will respect a truce until a final solution is found and they promise not to attack each other because they consider the principal enemy to be the Nussayri (Assad) regime.”

How will it be possible for Washington to vet the so-called “moderate rebels” in Syria, now that they have aligned efforts with ISIS?

How can all these rebel and terrorist groups who share the same goal of regime change in Syria (along with Washington and its allies), be expected to now split and take sides to fight ISIS? The simple answer is: they won’t.

So why are US political leaders and media so keen to hide this cooperation pact between Washington’s FSA rebels, al Nusra and ISIS? Because this was the plan all along…

Remember this latest agreement between ISIS and the rebels should be looked at objectively for what it really is. In a NY Times piece from December of 2012, it outlines the morally bankrupt role played by the US in regards to supporting Syrian rebels who had received approval from the the terror ranks of Al Qaeda:

“The lone Syrian rebel group with an explicit stamp of approval from Al Qaeda has become one of the uprising’s most effective fighting forces, posing a stark challenge to the United States and other countries that want to support the rebels but not Islamic extremists.”

A key fact to consider, is that many of the Syrian rebels would have never gotten the approval of Al Qaeda without some of their factions being linked to extremism.

The current non-aggression pact, comes after the Washington post revealed last week, that weapons sent to the so-called ‘moderate’ rebels in Syria, ended up in the hands of ISIS according to Conflict Armament Research:

The Islamic State has also captured “significant quantities” of U.S.-manufactured small arms and has employed them on the battlefield, researchers found.”

“The new research suggests they have also amassed arms after overrunning the moderate Syrian rebels being supplied by the United States and other allied nations.”

Incredibly, the suggested answer for Washington and its close friends, was to consider sending more arms to the rebel confab that was apparently at odds with ISIS – until last week.

The reality is though, that the Islamic State fighters have come from opposition linked groups that the US has helped to arm in the first place. Now it appears, the two groups will be openly working together attempting to topple Assad and the Syrian government – which couldn’t be more perfect for the West and its allies.

Dark Paymasters

In an another report from the CIA, as told by International Business Times, it has been stated that:

“A new CIA assessment from May to June reported Thursday said the Islamic State could have up to 31,500 fighters in Iraq and Syria, the Associated Press reported.”

The report continues, suggesting that ISIS recruiting has “stepped up.” Ironically, this report makes the rounds just as ISIS and the FSA, have agreed to work together in their newly minted non-aggression pact:

“Before May, the number of fighters whose allegiance lies with the militant group formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was closer to 10,000, but ISIS has since stepped up its recruitment campaign. The new estimate also takes into account “greater battlefield activity, and additional intelligence,” CIA spokesman Ryan Trapani told the AP.”

How will the US-NATO-Israeli-GCC alliance eradicate the apparent ISIS threat, when they’ll be working hand in hand with Western sponsored FSA rebels?

In a cutting report by global analyst and writer, Tony Cartalucci, we see a clearer picture of the kind of relationship the West has had with the FSA when looking at the rise of ISIS militants :

“The very appearance of ISIS on the battlefields of Iraq and Syria allegedly took the US intelligence community by surprise. The unlikely narrative was designed entirely to maintain plausible deniability between ISIS mercenaries and their paymasters in Washington, London, Brussels, Riyadh, Doha, and Ankara respectively. In reality, headlines over the past 3-4 years such as, “C.I.A. Said to Aid in Steering Arms to Syrian Opposition,” “First Syria rebels armed and trained by CIA ‘on way to battlefield’,” “Arms Airlift to Syria Rebels Expands, With Aid From C.I.A.,” and “Official says CIA-funded weapons have begun to reach Syrian rebels; rebels deny receipt,” indicate precisely how and from where the immense, multinational ISIS mercenary force originated.

The US has yet to account how its CIA could be operating within territory held by ISIS – including all along the Turkish-Syrian border and within Turkish territory itself – and neither know the existence, movements, or intentions of ISIS forces.

Between NSA surveillance at home, and the CIA operating side-by-side with ISIS and other Al Qaeda-linked terrorist organizations, the sudden revelations that Americans are fighting within ISIS’ ranks seem to be more a matter of politically-motivated propaganda, timed perfectly to justify US military intervention in Syria, than a case of yet another convenient lapse in American intelligence.”

Indeed, why hasn’t the intelligence community been able to better track the movements of ISIS or Al Qaeda for that matter, given the many methods in which the West can use?

Staged executions become a pretext for war

The newly announced pact also comes as Washington is now actively planning airstrikes in Syria following three high-profile video executions that appear to have been staged.  In the most recent ISIS propaganda piece, the video itself lacks any ‘conclusive’ evidence of crime scene, just like the two previous videos presenting Foley and Sotloff.

British national and aid worker, David Haines, is the apparent third victim of former rapper turned ISIS jihadist, Abdel Bary aka ‘Jihadi John’. Its clear that the alleged ‘beheading’ of Haines, has been used to get Britain to sign on to future US manged airstrike campaigns in Syria.

When Haines hostage status was first reported on, he was said to be “A British security expert who worked for aid organizations (and) may be the next ISIS victim,” according New York Daily News. The linkedIn profile of David Haines, stated that he was a Consultant Director at Astraea security in Croatia, as he is said to have had an extensive military and aid background in areas like Libya, and South Sudan.

According to multiple media sources as well as 21WIRE, “Haines served for 10 years in the RAF as an aircraft engineer. During his tenure with the RAF, Haines worked on the UN mission helping refugees return to their homes after the Balkans war. Apparently this is where he dedicated himself to humanitarian aid work.”

“Just like James Foley, Haines’s movements appear to shadow high-profile conflict zones in Africa and the Middle East. Foley’s tenure with CIA front USAID, and the obscure, foundation-funded GlobalPost has raised some interesting questions about the true nature of his work in these hot zones.

Haines also found himself in South Sudan during civil unrest there and incredibly, Hes was also in Libya during the civil war in 2011, again doing ‘aid work’.”

While Western media outlets wax poetic about the aid work resume of Haines, its important to consider that aid operations very often work in tandem with the intelligence community.

For those with an investigative flair, aid work that’s operational within hot war zones near Syria, is mostly likely being used as an intel gathering front, for either the CIA, MI6 or French Intelligence. We also know there is a strong likelihood that staff or contractors working for various NGO’s or so-called charitable organizations in those regions or elsewhere, could also be working in conjunction with western intelligence agencies.

The alleged decapitation video of Haines, a proclaimed “British hero,” fails to provide any significant evidence of a crime occurring. Additionally, the Haines video has many peculiar anomalies, as we noted in a special report yesterday:

“The ISIS video producer seems to prefer the same two camera set-up for all three beheading videos, but on all three videos, the background is different. None of the three videos have a “grounding shot”, in other words, none of the 3 videos has any footage of the actors’ feet or any contact with the ground – depicted as a desert. Again, skeptics will point to this as hiding the fact that a green screen was used in the videos.”

After placing blame on the Islamic State, Haines awkwardly accepts his fate, as the video abruptly fades to black near the minute mark. The final still of the ostensible death scene scrolls across the screen, depicting only the legs of the apparent victim before quickly cutting away to an image of the next hostage, aid worker, Alan Henning.

The specs on Henning also appear fishy, a former British ‘taxi driver’ turned aid worker, who had taken a trip to a refugee camp in Syria. More details are sure to emerge about Henning’s operational pedigree.

Of course the video distribution has once again been managed by CIA and Israeli intelligence-linked media outlet SITE. An agency who obtained all three purported executions of Foley, Sotloff and now Haines, and an agency, which is a for-profit intelligence monitoring group. Over the years, Site has been repeatedly accused of doctoring videos from terror groups around the globe.

ISIS and moderate Syrian rebels strike truce…with Al Qaeda’s help – reports

The militants of Islamic State have reportedly struck a deal with moderate Syrian rebels not to fight each other and focus on toppling the government. Some reports say the deal was brokered by the Al-Nusra Front, an Al-Qaeda branch in Syria.

The IS, formerly known as ISIS/ISIL, is preparing its forces in Syria for likely bombings by the US, which now considers itself at war with the extremist movement. In addition to spreading out from their known facilities, the group that took over portions of Syria and Iraq to build a caliphate is apparently seeking to safeguard itself from attacks of other armed groups in the war-torn country.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a London-based conflict watchdog, the IS has signed a non-aggression pact with moderate fighters, who control the Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood of Damascus.

Under the deal, “the two parties will respect a truce until a final solution is found and they promise not to attack each other because they consider the principal enemy to be the Nussayri regime,” AFP reported.“Nussayri” is a derogatory name for the Shiite Alawite sect, to which Syrian President Bashar Assad and many of his officials belong.

According to Orient Net, the truce is meant to stop fierce fighting that engulfed the neighborhood for over 40 days and was brokered by the Al-Nusra Front, an Al-Qaeda affiliate that has frequently clashed with the Islamic State, which itself splintered from the terrorist network to pursue an independent struggle for power in the region.

The moderate rebels who signed the deal include four distinct groups, including the US-backed Syria Revolutionary Front, reported Charles Lister, an analyst at the Brookings Institute. The SRF was considered moderate enough to merit the West’s support and a part of the Free Syrian Army, a loose coalition of secular and moderate groups fighting to topple the Assad government with the blessing of Washington.

In an earlier interview with the Independent, SRF leader Jamal Maarouf said that Al-Qaeda was not his problem and that he would welcome “anyone who fights against the regime inside Syria.”

The news comes as the US Congress is considering a $500 million request from the Obama administration to train and arm moderate rebel groups in Syria. Washington refuses to send its own troops on the ground against the IS and will limit its military action to reconnaissance and airstrikes instead.
