US Finally Admits ‘Moderates’ Are Joining The Terrorists in Syria

21st Century Wire says…

Better late than never.

Watch a video of this report here:

US Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Anne Patterson has finally admitted that allegedly ‘moderate’ rebels have been joining terrorist groups throughout Syria.

Patterson said, “The Nusra Front, which is an al-Qaeda affiliate, has absorbed the various moderate groups.

She then slightly corrected her statement and added, “They have absorbed a number of what we would previously call the moderate opposition.

Patterson also said the al-Nusra “will not be part of a political settlement” in Syria.

One might be wise to ask exactly how ‘moderate’ these people ever were, if they so readily join the ranks of barbaric terrorists.

Not so moderate.

Patterson has not acknowledged when exactly the US came to this realisation, which means it could be possible that the US mission to supply ‘moderates’ continued while they fully understood this reality on the ground.

Many have argued that ‘moderates’ have never existed at all, and Russian airstrikes have sought to destroy all forces violently opposing the Assad regime; which in any rational person’s mind would be considered a terrorist.

Since the immense success of the Russian campaign in Syria, it was unfortunate to hear that the US dropped 50 tons of supplies to forces they consider ‘moderate’. Will such support missions for terrorists continue now the State Department has admitted the lack of ‘moderates’?
